Auckland Cup Week - Auckland's Biggest Party! Auckland's biggest party wrapped up in style on Diamond Day - a day where we let our hair down and celebrated the week that was!
Congratulations to the connections of Warhorse - winner of the Group I Haunui Farm Diamond Stakes; Scarlett Lady, who was victorious in won the Group I Lindauer New Zealand Stakes; and Burgundy, winner of the Listed Coolmore Australia Mr Tiz Trophy.
The Anna Webster Jeweller Diamond Darling fashion competition was fiercely-fought by 12 well-dressed two-legged fillies who had been selected by roaming judges Di Goldsworthy and Charlotte Moor. A post-race enquiry saw Natalie Millerchen take home the gorgeous $12,500 diamond ring from Anna Webster Jeweller.
A highlight on the calendar of the young men about town or social butterflies, the Whips n Spurs High Tea Garden Party did not disappoint - with many party-goers staying on after the last race for the famous Birdcage Bash.
Finally, a big congratulations to 'top jock' James McDonald - winner of the Grenville Hughes Trophy for being the leading jockey of Auckland Cup Week.

REMEMBER! You're more than welcome to bring along your own food, unopened non-alcoholic beverages, umbrellas, chairs, picnic tables, mini-marquees (and even the kitchen sink!) into public areas oncourse, but you'll have to leave the stronger stuff at home as Ellerslie is a fully-licensed venue and BYO alcohol is not permitted.
